How Search Intent Shapes Content Strategy
Matching page format to intent is often the difference between ranking and being ignored.
Someone searching "what is" wants an explanation. Someone searching "near me" wants a destination. Someone searching "best" wants a comparison. The words are only half the story; the intent behind them decides what kind of page should rank.
Look at what already ranks
The current results are the clearest signal of what searchers expect. If the top results are guides, a product page is unlikely to compete, however well optimized.
Plan by journey stage
Grouping topics into awareness, consideration and decision stages helps you build pages that work together rather than competing with each other.
Give every page one job
Pages that try to inform, compare and sell at once usually do none of them well. A clear primary purpose makes the page more useful and easier to rank.
