Technical SEO Issues Worth Investigating
Before creating more content, check whether search engines can reach and understand the pages you already have.
It is tempting to treat SEO as a content problem: publish more, rank more. But if search engines struggle to reach or understand your pages, new content inherits the same problems. A short technical review often reveals quick wins.
Accidental noindex tags
Staging settings, plugin defaults and template changes can leave important pages marked as noindex. It is one of the most common and most damaging issues, and one of the easiest to fix once found.
Redirect chains and loops
Every site migration and URL change leaves redirects behind. Over time these stack into chains that slow crawling and dilute signals. Pointing old URLs directly to their final destination keeps things clean.
Orphaned pages
Pages with no internal links pointing to them are hard for search engines and visitors to find. Comparing your sitemap with a crawl of your internal links usually uncovers a few forgotten but valuable pages.
Slow templates
Performance issues tend to live in templates rather than individual pages. Fixing a heavy category or article template can improve hundreds of URLs at once.
